It is undoubtedly that technology is at its fastest pace. With time, it has become a part of our everyday lives, while also improving them over time. The previous years have witnessed the domination of projectors in communicating with people. They used to be big clanky things with a rolling cart and still images. The reason why many people go out to the cinema to see a film rather than staying indoors to watch it at their leisure if clear: 50-inch screens with an ultra HD image are not common in living rooms across the world.
The cinema has a unique experience which can’t be derived at home. Apart from the smell of popcorn, packet-rustling, drink-slurping eater, the experience of watching as well as reacting along with other audience and the radiance from the beam of the projector which is hovering overhead are enough. This is at the hands of flat screens technology that uses LED.
This same technology has been integrated by various manufacturers into building Cinema LED screen system. This has created new standards with a memorable experience that is worthy of investment. This transition to LED screen is also witnessed in areas and applications where projection probably has once been employed – educational institutes and houses of worship where A/V teams are not that experienced and budgets seem to be tighter.
LED screens are very easy to set up and maintain. It also offers a lower total cost of ownership when compared to projectors. With LED panels, there is no worry over projector positioning or possible obstructions over the entire image. Forget about the time when kids who sit at the back row used to interrupt a movie or image with their shadow.
LED screens boast of brightness over projectors. Projectors need a dark environment to beam a clear image (ANSI) while LED screens can display content with clarity even in direct sunlight (NITS). Though the brightness rate of a LED screen might appear lower when compared to that of a projector at first glance, it’s not the obtained result. Apart from this, they do not take space from other surfaces and can be used for any outdoor event.
Manufacturers, having spotted the bright future that awaits LED, now venture LED screen projector and other video display solutions. Therefore, the choice between a LED screen and a projector is according to the needs of an application. Though LED panels can be combined to increase the overall size of the screen, projectors can display images right on any surface. Also, projectors are best suited with contents that are displayed on an irregular or curved surface or any surface geometry.
Though LED screens and projectors have their unique benefits as they both compete in some applications, the adoption of the former by cinemas, modern churches, concerts, and educational institutions are a good indication that it is where the future is going. Or will consumers continue to demand the overhead glow of a projector that offers a beam of nostalgia?
